Expectations
In order or all students to enjoy a plesant productive learning environment in the Art Class Room the following behavioral expectations are provided. All students are expected to follow the county wide student code of conduct at all times. In addition students are to: 1. Be prepared to learn about Art upon entering the classroom by going to their seat quickly and quietly. 2. Use time wisely by staying on task and doing their best work for every assignment. 3. Be respectful by being nice all the time to everybody and everything. 4. Be responsible by remembering to write their name on their work, clean up and put away all supplies at the end of class. 5. Be safe all the time by following these safety rules: Keep all four chair legs on the floor while sitting in a chair. Keep all art tools and materials away from face and mouth. Always walk--never run in the class room. Tell the teacher if you hurt yourself or if someone else is hurt. Do not throw anything in the classroom. Clean up any spills immediately. Do not spin or twirl scissors or rulers.
Consequences
Occasionally a student may choose not to follow the expectations. When this happens there are consequences. There will first be a polite reminder ......(for example: please remember to be respectful by being nice to everyone all the time.) . If the behavior does not stop the student will be asked to copy a letter that will be sent home for the parent to sign and return to the art teacher before the next class. If the letter is not returned on time, a phone call home will be made to find out why the letter was not returned. A second offense will result in an immediate phone call home, After talking to the adult, I will ask the adult to talk to the student. A third and any future offenses will result in an office referral.
